We ship our hats from regional NSW Australia using Australia Post, the most cost effective and reliable carrier in our region.

The hats are posted in a hat box, to protect them and not crush transit, we do not make any profit from shipping, we just pass the costs on to you directly.

Raffia is a natural fibre derived from the raffia palm. It’s lightweight, breathable, and has a beautifully organic texture. Over time it softens slightly, which gives the hat character and a lived-in elegance.

Because raffia is a natural fibre, over time it can soften, especially with humidity or pressure. But you can restore shape with gentle care:

Hold the hat over steam (e.g. from a kettle or steamer) and gently reshape the brim and crown with your fingers

Or mist lightly with water, then reshape and allow it to air dry in natural light (not in strong sun)

Use a rounded object (like an upturned bowl or a hat block) to help support the shape while drying

Store the hat in its box or fill the crown with soft tissue paper to maintain its form

Please avoid getting the hat very wet or submerging it in water. Raffia can absorb moisture, which may weaken fibres or distort shape. If your hat does get wet: blot gently with a soft towel, reshape while damp, then air-dry (out of direct sunlight or heat).

Fill the crown with tissue paper to support the shape

Don’t stack heavy items on top of it

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat

Steam or mist evenly

Reshape the crown and brim gently

Let dry naturally on a support (hat block or rounded form)

Repeat if needed, always gradually

Raffia is a firm natural fibre and should not be rolled, folded, or packed flat, as this can cause permanent creases or cracking.
For travel:

Wear it on the plane, car or train — the best way to protect the shape

Or pack it carefully in your suitcase by filling the crown with soft clothing (like scarves or socks) and placing it brim-up

Surround it with lightweight items for support — avoid heavy objects on top

Once you arrive, steam gently if it needs reshaping

Your Le Sac hatbox is perfect for storage and safe travel by car but is not designed for air travel due to size.

Use a soft, dry brush to remove dust and debris. For spot stains, dampen a soft cloth (or sponge) with mild soapy water and gently blot. Wipe again with a clean damp cloth to remove soap residue, then let air-dry.
