Introducing Emma Sheehan: The Artist Behind Our Limited-Edition Garden Box

Every so often, a collaboration arrives that feels less like a meeting of kindred spirits. For us at Le Sac, that moment is now. We are overjoyed to share our collaboration with artist Emma Sheehan, and together we have created something playful and fun for this season, The Emma Sheehan × Le Sac Garden Box, launching November.

Before we open the lid and share what’s inside, let us tell you a little about Emma whose artwork has transformed this collection into something far more than products, it has become a celebration of colour, creativity, and summer in the garden!

Meet Emma Sheehan

Emma lives and paints in the small town of Jugiong, NSW, where her studio spills with sunlight and the hum of the countryside. Her work is a mix of colour and memory, joyful compositions that pay homage to the everyday objects that make up a life well-loved: a table laid, a jug of flowers, the familiar pattern of linen.

A thread of creativity runs deep through her family. “My aunt has owned a shop called The Bay Tree in Woollahra for almost 40 years,” she says. “I’ve always been surrounded by beautiful ceramics, vintage cookware, beautiful linens… even though my mum’s a pharmacist, she is very creative… she taught both my sister and I from a really young age what really beautiful quality is.” Social media helped her leap into a life of art: “A gallery in Moree reached out and said, ‘I saw this work. Can you do five more?’ And I said, ‘No way, I’m not an artist, that’s so embarrassing.’… They sold — and that’s literally how it started.”

Of Colour, Memory, and Joy

“I paint from memory,” Emma tells us. “From the small things that linger — plates, flowers, textiles, moments of home.” Her process is emotional rather than deliberate, intuitive rather than exact. The result is work that feels alive, bold, warm, and full of the generosity of colour.

For our collaboration, Emma drew from the rambling nasturtium — a flower both humble and exuberant, its tendrils spilling and curling, its spirit untamed. Influenced too by British designer Sean Pritchard’s joyous interiors and gardens, the artwork for the collaboration captures that same sense of abundant life, art that doesn’t stand apart from the everyday, but lives within it.

Why Emma Sheehan, and Why Now

At Le Sac, we’ve long believed that the garden is not only a place of growth, but of expression. A mirror of our own lives, beautiful, imperfect, ever-changing. Emma’s art embodies that philosophy. Her colours feel like the earth and sky have conspired to create them; her subjects speak of home, of tending, a life lived.

In bringing Emma’s art into this collaboration, we hoped to create something lasting, a marriage of form and function. It is both practical and creative, as all good things should be.
